SPECIAL UPDATE: Special Visitors, and Jp doing what Jp does!!!

Hello Everyone!!

Here is a very cool "Jp" story we just had to share with you:

So as we all know the great Edward Van Halen passed away... Shortly afterwards guitarists world wide took to all manner of social media to pay tribute.

Well we here at the John-Paul Jones Group and associated companies know that Eddie was a huge influence on Jp.

But it seems Eddie's influence is everywhere including on a 14 year old guitarist from Southeast Iowa named Jacob Schrader...

Jacob's mother Sarah posted a facebook video of him playing tribute to Eddie Van Halen..  Jp's friend Ashley Junis tagged him in the video.  Here is a screenshot of Jacob playing.


So Jp being the guy that he is contacted Sarah even though he was a stranger. 
    



 He absolutely wanted to meet Jacob and invite them both to CopperTop Studio hut to talk guitars and let Jacob see where he records music.  Below are some photos of the boys as they came and visited Jp at CopperTop Studio Hut.  Jp said it was a highlight of his day to visit with the young guys.


 
Jp started out showing the boys his equipment and played a little bit for them.  
The boys even got a chance to hit up the drums.  
They were very attentive and enjoyed as Jp showed them a few things on the guitar.

  
Then Jp picked up a 6 string bass and put Jacob on his universe and let him play a few songs.

 
Here you can see Jacob with his own designed Eddie Van Halen replica he did himself.  And his brothers jamming on the drums.

Nothing quite sums up the evening like this note from Sarah

From Jp:  "I have an older "brother" musician in on guy named Tony Blew, he has always talked with me and shared musical and life advice with me.  I get extreme joy in sharing things that I know with the next generation.  Jacob has that real fire for playing the guitar and Jonah and Wyatt also have a real musical passion as well.  It was a highlight of my day to have these kids here in the studio and it won't be the last time for sure."

Jp & Jesse Doing Their Thang Every year the John-Paul Jones Group does a "soft opening"  many folks don't realize that by November 1st of each year the band is on vacation until March 1st of the following year.    This allows the band much needed time to relax, and to avoid the Iowa winters.  March 1st to May 15th the band starts back in pre-production for the summer concert series. VISIT THEM ON THE WEB On May 18th, 2019 was the Artist's first show of the year, and it was at a new venue for the John-Paul Jones Group.  The venue is the HFI Creativity Lab located at 408 W. Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert

On July 20th, 2019, despite a statewide heat advisory and power fluctuation problems the John-Paul Jones Group performed at the 1st Annual Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Their brand of Heavy Blues must of  brought in the Heavy Weather, but the band played right to the eve of the storm. The crew worked hard during the storm to pull down the gear and get it out of the storm we were all soaking wet and cold and thanks to a couple good Samaritans we were able to get most of the gear protected. The cars were great as well here are few pictures of them. The Vehicle Show was wonderful with 45 entries.  1st -3rd place was given for cars and trucks. We will get the full roster and awards up in the next few days.  We wanted to thank Scott Reeves of Reeves Hauling for the donation of the Trophies. COPPERTOP STUDIO HUT JOURNAL ENTRY 04-04-2018 CLIENT:  John-Paul Jones Group TIME: 6:30PM to 8:10PM MUSICIANS:    Guitar/Vocals  Jp Jones   Drums - Steven Jones Bass - Sally Ward The John-Paul Jones Group was in the studio today recording an old Sonny Boy Williamson classic tune.  We will keep the actual song under wraps. The band recorded with a minimal setup. The goal is to mimic a direct to recording disc recording.  Sonny Boy Williamson had a unique style of singing.  Jp worked hard at melding his style with this style of blues. But one of the biggest changes, was Jp traded (for this session) his Ibanez Universe 7 String for an Ibanez 6 String Tallman Guitar. Who knew the 7-String Heavy Bluesman could have a softer side. Jp stated, " I was trying to put a LIMITATION" on myself. First couple takes I played finger style, but the band couldn't bite into it.  So he switched to a dunlop pick.  This brought out attack, and also gave the
