WHAT IS A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF JOHN-PAUL JONES GROUP LOOK LIKE? - PART I

So a few folks have wondered, "Why has John-Paul Jones Group played less frequently over the past 25 years than other groups we see?"

The answer to that question has many parts. But is comes down to work:life balance. In his own words...

"As most know I started the band Jp's Eternia in 1995. Robert Lloyd Davis original bass player in both Jp's Eternia in which I never really wanted the lead singer roll. The group went through a lot of players, which is the nature of his endeavor we call music business. I was trying to create a professional environment and a real music business with no money, no real professional resources and my strong ability research and learn.

Also I had a lot of personal things happening, partners, friends and family members with addiction issues. To say I was stretched thin by this time... Is an understatement. In 2000 a greater power than me put me on halt to stop and see what was going on in my life. That halt came in form of an near death experience and on the job electrical arc flash accident. Needless to say the 4 years of recovery gave me time to re-evaluate my life and my priorities. Ironicly it was nearly at this same time I became a single father of three amazing children. I was forced to find a balance in my life and thankfully I did.

Being the best single father I could be did not come overnight it was hard work and learning not to second guess the value consistency was the one lesson I learned to do. It has served me well so far as I have 3 amazing adults children now." - Jp Jones



So now you know the main reason why the John-Paul Paul Jones Group operates the way it does. Because Jp know that consistency and quality is most important aspect of building a business or a family. He knows that for John-Pauo Jones Group to survive the next 25 years he has to stay the course and make slight adjustments and modifications when necessary.

Jp & Jesse Doing Their Thang Every year the John-Paul Jones Group does a "soft opening"  many folks don't realize that by November 1st of each year the band is on vacation until March 1st of the following year.    This allows the band much needed time to relax, and to avoid the Iowa winters.  March 1st to May 15th the band starts back in pre-production for the summer concert series. The John-Paul Jones Group is the primary project of its leader, John-Paul "Jp" Jones and it’s his vision and under his direction the band has progressed in its now 20 years of existence. VISIT THEM ON THE WEB On May 18th, 2019 was the Artist's first show of the year, and it was at a new venue for the John-Paul Jones Group.  The venue is the HFI Creativity Lab located at 408 W. Lowe in Fairfield, Iowa. A unique venue with an oval ceiling full dance floor commercial restrooms.  But no alcohol service. This is a ballroom to be the best way to describe it

Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert

On July 20th, 2019, despite a statewide heat advisory and power fluctuation problems the John-Paul Jones Group performed at the 1st Annual Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Their brand of Heavy Blues must of  brought in the Heavy Weather, but the band played right to the eve of the storm. The crew worked hard during the storm to pull down the gear and get it out of the storm we were all soaking wet and cold and thanks to a couple good Samaritans we were able to get most of the gear protected. The cars were great as well here are few pictures of them. The Vehicle Show was wonderful with 45 entries.  1st -3rd place was given for cars and trucks. WHAT IS A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF JOHN-PAUL JONES GROUP LOOK LIKE? - PART II

So maybe you are wondering how does John-Paul Jones Group operate? What are all the parts of the enterprise? Well to start if off let's get the name out of the way.  The name is unique in that it's not a stage name. It is a family name. Prof. Jp's grandparents Marjorie and Robert Jones names his father John-Paul Jones after her brother John and his brother Paul.  Naming sins and daughters after relatives is a long family tradition in his Black Iowegian Culture.  Naturally Prof. Jp is named after his father and his oldest son is named after him.  So John-Paul Jones Group is an extension of that legacy and very personal. So who are the people who make up the group?  We without these folks things cannot happen.
