So for this next album Jp is adding some instrumentation. Jp has been in the studio working hard putting it all together. For the techies who like to know about the gear. Jp is using a PAIR of Casio CTK-631 (Kawai is just place holder) as controllers. (all you keyboardists remember hes primarily a guitarist LOL. He controls two Roland GR-33a Synth Modules with these two units. To quote Jp... "I know there are computer synths and other sound modules that are way more expensive and may have better sounds... but Im an old guy who writes in my style and when I cannot play a passage on the keys... I can simply plug my roland pickup enabled piccalo bass or Steinber 6 string and play the passage on these guitar synth modules, they have been my goto units for a long time." Jp also has it under wraps but we will have a surprise for the live band... we are keeping it under wraps for now but stay tuned to find out the big announcement. Jp & Jesse Doing Their Thang Every year the John-Paul Jones Group does a "soft opening"  many folks don't realize that by November 1st of each year the band is on vacation until March 1st of the following year.    This allows the band much needed time to relax, and to avoid the Iowa winters.  March 1st to May 15th the band starts back in pre-production for the summer concert series. The John-Paul Jones Group is the primary project of its leader, John-Paul "Jp" Jones and it’s his vision and under his direction the band has progressed in its now 20 years of existence. VISIT THEM ON THE WEB On May 18th, 2019 was the Artist's first show of the year, and it was at a new venue for the John-Paul Jones Group.  The venue is the HFI Creativity Lab located at 408 W. Lowe in Fairfield, Iowa. A unique venue with an oval ceiling full dance floor commercial restrooms.  But no alcohol service. This is a ballroom to be the best way to describe it

Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert

On July 20th, 2019, despite a statewide heat advisory and power fluctuation problems the John-Paul Jones Group performed at the 1st Annual Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Their brand of Heavy Blues must of  brought in the Heavy Weather, but the band played right to the eve of the storm. The crew worked hard during the storm to pull down the gear and get it out of the storm we were all soaking wet and cold and thanks to a couple good Samaritans we were able to get most of the gear protected. The cars were great as well here are few pictures of them. The Vehicle Show was wonderful with 45 entries.  1st -3rd place was given for cars and trucks.
