UPDATE DECEMBER 2020

HELLO EVERYONE!
BROKE IN BRIDGE CITY ALBUM IS DONE!

Its been a productive six months of pandemic precautions, writing, recording, mixing & mastering. and we are happy to say that the album is completed and is being manufactured. 


 
We at the John-Paul Jones Group would like to thank Chris @ Barber Drum Studio, Sheffield, UK for recording the killer drum tracks on the album.  Jp may of composed them, but Chris brought Jp's vision of killer 60's sonnding live drum tracks to life.




Secondly we hae to give a big THANK YOU Angeliki Mourgela of Athens Greece at Mourgella Mixing Studios  for taking the time out of her busy schedule to mix the record.  When you hear these tracks you are going to see what a great team these three made on this project.


Next we want to thank the team at LANDR.COM who worked with Jp during the mastering phase of the record.  


Jp worked within his own mastering studio and with LANDR to come up with an authentic sounding record.  This record will remind you of the great sounding records of the 60's and you should like it. IT WILL NOT BE ONE OF THE LOUDNESS WARS productions

We also have to thank some other support folks who helped Jp along the way.  Tina Haas Findlay for all of her coaching on vocals when Jp needed her.  She would make the 90 mile trek to CopperTop Studio Hut to help him out.

FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR GREAT TIME!!

Jp & Jesse Doing Their Thang Every year the John-Paul Jones Group does a "soft opening"  many folks don't realize that by November 1st of each year the band is on vacation until March 1st of the following year.    This allows the band much needed time to relax, and to avoid the Iowa winters.  March 1st to May 15th the band starts back in pre-production for the summer concert series. The John-Paul Jones Group is the primary project of its leader, John-Paul "Jp" Jones and it’s his vision and under his direction the band has progressed in its now 20 years of existence. VISIT THEM ON THE WEB On May 18th, 2019 was the Artist's first show of the year, and it was at a new venue for the John-Paul Jones Group.  The venue is the HFI Creativity Lab located at 408 W. Lowe in Fairfield, Iowa. A unique venue with an oval ceiling full dance floor commercial restrooms.  But no alcohol service. This is a ballroom to be the best way to describe it

Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert

On July 20th, 2019, despite a statewide heat advisory and power fluctuation problems the John-Paul Jones Group performed at the 1st Annual Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Their brand of Heavy Blues must of  brought in the Heavy Weather, but the band played right to the eve of the storm. The crew worked hard during the storm to pull down the gear and get it out of the storm we were all soaking wet and cold and thanks to a couple good Samaritans we were able to get most of the gear protected. The cars were great as well here are few pictures of them. The Vehicle Show was wonderful with 45 entries.  1st -3rd place was given for cars and trucks. WHAT IS A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF JOHN-PAUL JONES GROUP LOOK LIKE? - PART II

So maybe you are wondering how does John-Paul Jones Group operate? What are all the parts of the enterprise? Well to start if off let's get the name out of the way.  The name is unique in that it's not a stage name. It is a family name. Prof. Jp's grandparents Marjorie and Robert Jones names his father John-Paul Jones after her brother John and his brother Paul.  Naming sins and daughters after relatives is a long family tradition in his Black Iowegian Culture.  Naturally Prof. Jp is named after his father and his oldest son is named after him.  So John-Paul Jones Group is an extension of that legacy and very personal. So who are the people who make up the group?  We without these folks things cannot happen.
