UPDATE - NEW ALBUM ON THE WAY

So its been awhile and I wanted to share some updates.  First of all I want to thank everyone for their support through COVID-19 precautions.

The John-Paul Jones Group WILL be out playing this summer a few dates.  Please check the CALENDAR for officially confirmed dates.

THERE WILL BE SOME NEW MATERIAL out this summer.  A new CD of Original Songs is being recorded and produced by Jp and his engineer.

Some samples have been released and you can LISTEN  or WATCH  we appreciate your support.

Okay here is a personal note from Jp....

"As many of you may or may not know I live my life with Type II diabetes.  The disease is time consuming and it rules EVERY aspect of your life.  My last update I shared information Bout my progress with trying to get the disease under control.  WellI wanted to briefly show you my results.

My 90 day average is down tremendously.  I have NOT changed my diet by much exception reduction in red meats to 70% less intake. I have increased my leguimes by 300%  and I take 2000mg of turmeric a day.  Overall the results are as follows:


Its important for those of us living with diabetes to be PROACTIVE.  In my opinion we should know what our A1C is BEFORE our next quarterly doctors visit. With my meter and app from Bayer I am able to keep running averages on my phone.

Using the Fitbit app I am able to track my food and exercise.  All of these things are time consuming to do manually so I am trying to make it as painless and efficient as possible.  If you are a diabetic.  You owe it to yourself and your loved ones to get proactive in learning how your environment affects your disease and how the disease affects your life."

Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert

On July 20th, 2019, despite a statewide heat advisory and power fluctuation problems the John-Paul Jones Group performed at the 1st Annual Blues-Bikes-Cars Concert in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Their brand of Heavy Blues must of  brought in the Heavy Weather, but the band played right to the eve of the storm. The crew worked hard during the storm to pull down the gear and get it out of the storm we were all soaking wet and cold and thanks to a couple good Samaritans we were able to get most of the gear protected. The cars were great as well here are few pictures of them. The Vehicle Show was wonderful with 45 entries.  1st -3rd place was given for cars and trucks. We will get the full roster and awards up in the next few days.  We wanted to thank Scott Reeves of Reeves Hauling for the donation of the Trophies. FIRST SHOW OF THE YEAR GREAT TIME!!

Jp & Jesse Doing Their Thang Every year the John-Paul Jones Group does a "soft opening"  many folks don't realize that by November 1st of each year the band is on vacation until March 1st of the following year.    This allows the band much needed time to relax, and to avoid the Iowa winters.  March 1st to May 15th the band starts back in pre-production for the summer concert series. The John-Paul Jones Group is the primary project of its leader, John-Paul "Jp" Jones and it’s his vision and under his direction the band has progressed in its now 20 years of existence. VISIT THEM ON THE WEB On May 18th, 2019 was the Artist's first show of the year, and it was at a new venue for the John-Paul Jones Group.  The venue is the HFI Creativity Lab located at 408 W. Lowe in Fairfield, Iowa. A unique venue with an oval ceiling full dance floor commercial restrooms.  But no alcohol service. This is a ballroom to be the best way to describe it

COPPERTOP STUDIO HUT JOURNAL ENTRY 04-04-2018 CLIENT:  John-Paul Jones Group TIME: 6:30PM to 8:10PM MUSICIANS:    Guitar/Vocals  Jp Jones   Drums - Steven Jones Bass - Sally Ward The John-Paul Jones Group was in the studio today recording an old Sonny Boy Williamson classic tune.  We will keep the actual song under wraps. The band recorded with a minimal setup. The goal is to mimic a direct to recording disc recording.  Sonny Boy Williamson had a unique style of singing.  Jp worked hard at melding his style with this style of blues. But one of the biggest changes, was Jp traded (for this session) his Ibanez Universe 7 String for an Ibanez 6 String Tallman Guitar. Who knew the 7-String Heavy Bluesman could have a softer side. Jp stated, " I was trying to put a LIMITATION" on myself.
