The Crossroads II - Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Ottumwa, we're doing it again.
The first Crossroads gave us live music, families, friends, kids on the stage, big guitar moments, and a downtown evening we won't forget.
It also gave us something else: rain.
Iowa weather forced us to change plans and come back for a makeup day. But the weather didn't stop the show then, and it won't stop The Crossroads II either.
On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the John-Paul Jones Group returns to 2nd & Green in Ottumwa, Iowa for another evening of live music and community.
Bring your lawn chairs. Bring your canopy. Bring the stroller. Bring the kids. Bring your friends. Then settle in and spend the evening with us.
REMEMBER THE FIRST CROSSROADS?

The idea was simple:
Put a stage downtown.
Turn it up.
See what happens when the community gathers around it.
What happened was something special.
THE GUITARS CAME OUT
A guitar moment from the first Crossroads.
There are some things photographs capture better than words. You can almost hear this one.
The Crossroads gives us a chance to play live music the way we think it ought to be played - close enough that you aren't just watching the show.
You feel it.

On September 19, we're plugging everything back in and doing it again.

The guitar may get some of the attention, but there is no Crossroads without the whole band.

Bass on the other side.
Everybody listening to everybody else.

That is part of what makes live music different. No rewind. No second take. Everybody onstage and everybody in the audience shares the same moment.
AND THEN THE SHOW BECAME SOMETHING MORE
Davon & Riah Ingram both joining the action onstage.
Some of our favorite moments from the first Crossroads weren't on the set list.
Kids came up to the stage. They got close to the instruments. They got to see what a live band looks and feels like from the other side of the speakers.
And for a few minutes, they became part of the show.
A future guitar player? Moments like this are what The Crossroads is about. Like papa like grand-daughter.
Those are the moments that stay with you. Maybe one of those kids goes home and asks for a guitar. Maybe another starts thinking about drums. Maybe years from now somebody remembers:
"I got to stand on that stage."
Music. Community. People coming together.
And on September 19, we get to do it all over again.
AND YES - WE HAVE A RAIN PLAN
Last time, the weather got involved. Rain forced us to postpone the original Crossroads and come back for a makeup day.
So this year, we're making the backup plan clear from the beginning.
Same idea. Same music. We just come back the next day.
Last time the rain changed the schedule. It didn't stop The Crossroads.

The Crossroads is supposed to feel close. Downtown. Local. People walking up, finding a chair, seeing somebody they know, getting some food, and staying for the music.
That is the atmosphere we're bringing back September 19. Bring your lawn chairs, canopies, and strollers and make yourself comfortable.
